You got the reason and the modus both wrong. Bombing alone would
not do it; the toppling of Saddam Hussein will require US boots on the
ground, and the reason for doing so is not to ensure the uninterrupted
oil supply to the US alone, but to prevent Saddam from engaging, either
directly or through Islamic terrorist mediation, in global nuclear terror
and blackmail combined with a global energy stranglehold should he
once again attempt to take the Arabian Peninsula, as is a continuing
ambition of his. After all, if he is to become a Caliph like his hero
Saladin, he must control the 'two holy places' of Mecca and Medina,
and controlling all that Saudi, Kuwaiti and UAE oil is great gravy for a
regional despot with global designs.
