Description: Soundbites from the Chief Warrior

God bless the BBC's "Broadcasting House" for compiling this hilarious
compendium of US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld's most ridiculous
moments. Rumsfeld is known as a "wordsmith" and consummate pro at
charming, obfuscating, and stonewalling the media on matters of war, and
taking up entire press conferences without saying anything at all.
Listen to a few of these and you might wonder if the inmates are running
the asylum.

Always Be Certain, Even If You're Not:
"I believe what I said yesterday. I don't know what I said, but I know
what I think and I assume it's what I said."

That Narrows it Down:
"We do know of certain knowledge that [Osama bin Laden] is either in
Afghanistan, or in some other country, or dead."

I Think, Therefore I Am Confused:
"Goodness, I know I shouldn't say I don't think so, although that's what
I think."

Unknown Knowns Are The FBI's Department:
"The message is that there are known knowns. There are things we know
that we know. There are known unknowns; that is to say, there are things
that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns.
There are things that we do not know we don't know. And each year we
discover a few more of those unknown unknowns."

Listen to all of the above, plus a dozen more "Donald Rumsfeld
Soundbites of the Week" at the BBC's web site, here. <snap>
